2019 Domaines Ott 'Château de Selle' Côtes de Provence Rosé
Winemaker Notes: Pale pink with golden tints. The nose opens with intense notes of citrus which evolve towards more floral and spicy aromas. The fresh and smooth palate displays a range of citrus notes combined with a touch of minerality which lingers on the soft and very persistent finish. Located inland on limestone hillsides, the vineyard enjoys abundant sunshine. The proportion of stones in the soil is 40 to 50%, so the land is dry and, despite the presence of some extremely fertile clay deposits, yields are low.
Wine & Spirits - "This is one of the best rosés in the world. Dry, stony & precise on the palate, with orange & redcurrant flavors. The finish lingers with clarity. I'd serve this wine as I would a rich white Burgundy."
Vinous - "Brilliant peach skin color. A highly perfumed, mineral-accented bouquet evokes fresh red berries, pit fruits and kumquat. A sexy floral note emerges with air. Silky and penetrating on the palate, offering intense redcurrant, strawberry, nectarine and blood orange flavors that slowly deepen through the mid-palate. Delivers solid punch but comes off lithe, showing excellent clarity and floral notes on the impressively long, seamless finish."
Wine Enthusiast - "Bringing out freshness as well as the richness of the Ott style, this wine is generous, full of red fruits while also having an attractive, lip-smacking mineral acidity. Drink now."
